Easter Island

Easter Island Petroglyphs

Sea creatures (left) comprise a large category of petroglyph designs on Easter Island and any of these have human faces. These two figures located above Anakena are also associated with a legend about two varua (spirits) who swam and flew to the island from the mythical land of Hiva. The figures measure more than two meters long.
