The Giraffe Carving is reported to be the "Show piece of African Rock Art". You can now puchase one of the limited edition casts that are now for sale. All profits from sales will go to the Trust for African Rock Art to aid projects of Preservation.

The first cast has been presented to the town of Agadez. A trial section has been cast of the larger Giraffe's head, seen here with Project Controllers Peter Robinson and Cathy Hefner Urice.
A cast has been shown at the "Dawn of the Human Spirit" at the Cologne Zoo by United Exhibits. Future exhibtions are planned for 20 sites around the world, details of which can be found below.

| Dabous Cast @ Explorer's Hall Washington USA - Runs to Spring 2002 The cast will be the main feature of the Rock Art Exhibit of the National Geographic Society's Africa Exhibition, which runs though to the Spring 2002. It has been assembled in the courtyard of the NGS on a timber frame, and angled steeply for maximum visibility. The Rock Art exhibit will be part of a group of exhibits, including the Megatransect Interactive Display (J. Michael Fay), the Disney-Tishman African Art Collection, and an African Photo Exhibit. The Exhibition will aim to present an unprecedented look at Africa - far from the conventional "One People, One Nation" view, it will highlight the varied cultures, peoples, wildlife & terrain. | |||||||
