Geometric Signs – a new understanding |
Genevieve von Petzinger is inspiring a new understanding of ancient geometric signs, which is having a ripple effect around the world.
Genevieve, who has recently completed a MA degree in Paleoanthropology at the University of Victoria in British Columbia, Canada, is researching the geometric signs present in rock art sites in Ice Age France. Her MA research focused on their large-scale temporal and spatial patterning, as a way to look at the evolution of symbolic behaviour in early modern humans.
As well as having her research accepted as a poster presentation at the annual Paleoanthropology Society conference in Chicago, this year her work has become a cover story in New Scientist magazine [20 February, p.30]. I strongly recommend this article:

Genevieve, who will start her PhD this fall at the same university, is now preparing a new section for the Bradshaw Foundation based on her research into geometric signs. I will let you know when this is available.
