Archaeologists in Iran have recently discovered one of the largest panels of petroglyphs in the country.
Located near the highland city of Malayer in the Hamadan Province of Iran, south -west of Tehran, the panel measures roughly 12 metres wide by 2.5 metres high. The engraved depictions, over 100 in number, include animals and human figures , as well as geometric motifs.
The age of the petroglyphs is unknown, yet currently thought to have been created over a number of different prehistoric phases.
